Seine River Cruise
The Impressionist Seine
Taking a cruise on the Seine
means Versailles! The fun
and games start in Paris.
Passing under the bridges of
"Paris by night" is one of
the highlights of our
cruises after the visit to
the chateau of
Auvers-sur-Oise, the mecca
of French painting and the
first museum in the world to
offer a "show trail" through
the time of picnics on the
grass, retro cafés and
idling away the time on the
beaches of Normandy.

Rhone, Saone-France
The Rhone, gateway to the
Mediterranean
Our cruises criss-cross
wonderful landscapes and
prestigious names in the
world of wine: Beaujolais
and Burgundy, between Chalon
and Mâcon, Côtes du Rhône
near Tain l'Hermitage. Then
comes the Ardèche gorge,
mythical Provence and,
finally, the Camargue.

Rhine River Cruises
The Rhine, between
Romanticism and Realism
The Rhine is an
international river par
excellence. It rises in the
Alps, in the Grisons in
Switzerland, and, 1,350 km
further, meets the North Sea
in Holland (the
Netherlands), where it
welcomes the waters of the
Meuse before fragmenting
into several branches. The
river which forms the border
between Switzerland and
Austria, between Switzerland
and Germany, between France
and Germany where, for 180
km of its length, it is
Alsatian. It divides the
Vosges and the Black Forest
between Basel and Mainz. Its
course then turns towards
Luxembourg and the
Netherlands where it becomes
broad and powerful.

Danube River Cruises
The Danube: mirroring Europe
The Danube, the link between
East and West, a connection
between peoples, passes from
the flamboyance of the
Romantic, Gothic, Baroque
and Rococo styles in the
first half of its course to
the welcoming beauty of the
Asian world. Just after
Vienna. It is a reminder
that, for centuries, it was
Europe's shield for
countries seeking freedom
and independence in the face
of assaults from the
Russians, the Turks and the
Slavs. The impassable border
between North and South,
between Christian and
Muslim.

Douro River Cruises
The Douro, fragrant cradle
of Port Wine
It flows between the
vineyards, which seem to
tumble straight down into
its glittering water. It is
the privileged witness to
all of the secrets of making
port wine, which has been
known and exported for
centuries. It distils a
romantic and nostalgic life
style surrounded by untamed
nature, wafted by the scent
of oranges and flowering
mimosa. In the very south of
Europe, the Douro, the
golden river, tells a very
beautiful tale of the love
of man and the vine to the
strains of the fado.

Guadelquivir & Guadiana
A land of sun, with hint of
the Orient...
For Arab poets, Andalusia
was a "land just a step away
from paradise". Passionate
flamenco, the corrida, and a
very photogenic hint of
Islam alone are not enough
to encapsulate the most
southerly of the Spanish
provinces. In Andalusia, no
town is the same. The
Guadalquivir, which crosses
it from east to west,
reflects these contrasts
between the snow-capped
sierras, deserts worthy of
the Wild West and white
beaches flooded with
sunlight.

Tizsa River Cruises
Western Europeans know
little of the Tisza (pronounced Tissa) even though it is
the Danube's main tributary. The Tisza rises in the
Ukraine. It then becomes the river which marks the
border between Romania and the Ukraine before reaching
Hungary, and continues its course through the former
Yugoslavia

Po
River Cruises
The Po, a Unesco World
Heritage site, also leads to
Venice
A number of beautiful towns
in Lombardy and Veneto
appear on the cruise
program:
Cremona
possesses the most beautiful
medieval buildings in the
north of the peninsula.
Famous for the manufacture
of violins, it is the
capital of stringed
instruments to which a
museum is devoted.
Mantua set
on a peninsula surrounded by
lakes, it is famous for its
patron princes, the Gonzagas.
The tour of its ducal palace
is a must. A veritable town
within a town, it comprises
numerous buildings, churches
and interior squares
punctuated by gardens and
loggias.
Padua once
enjoyed such a cultural and
spiritual influence that
Shakespeare called it the
"nursery of arts". Saint
Anthony, a Franciscan monk
and patron saint of lost
property, founded a school
of theology here in 1229. A
basilica was constructed in
his name as a large number
of miracles have occurred in
the vicinity of his burial
place.
Verona,
which is situated in a
meander in the Adige, is
worth the trip as it
represents a lovely romantic
port of call. After Venice,
the city of Romeo and Juliet
is the most beautiful city
of art in northern Italy.
