ITINERARY:
1st Day: PORTO
Boarding from 5.00pm and time to settle com -
fortably in your cabins before being presented to
the crew during a welcome cocktail reception served
in the lounge. Dinner on board followed by a trip by
coach to see the Porto by night (optional).
2nd Day: PORTO – REGUA
Buffet breakfast on board then set off to visit
Porto (optional), one of the oldest cities in Europe,
awarded World heritage status by Unesco, with
its unspoiled old quarters, maze of narrow winding
streets, houses with archways and splendid
churches. However, Porto is known first and foremost
for its famous porto wines from the vineyards
which stretch as far as the eye can see along the
banks of the Douro. In Vila Nova de Gaia, visit a
wine cellar where this exceptional wine is mellowed
and matured slowly and secretly. Return to the ship
for lunch and then cruise onto Regua, admiring the
marvellous scenery that the cruise offers. You will
pass the locks of Crestuma and Carrapelato, which
is the highest in Europe at 35m. Arrive at around
8.00pm Dinner-dance and gala evening on board.
3rd Day: REGUA – VEGA DE TERON (Spain)
Departure on cruise for Tavora. Buffet breakfast
on board followed by a port wine tasting excursion
(optional). Follow the wine road which runs
through the heart of the vineyards before stopping
to taste some of these vintages in a quinta (winecellar).
Join the ship again in Ferradossa for lunch.
Afternoon spent cruising through the heart of the
famous Porto vineyards, passing the locks or Valeria
and Pocinho, arriving in Vega de Teron in the
evening. Dinner followed by a crew show.
4th Day: VEGA DE TERON
Buffet breakfast on board. Excursion to Salamanca
(optional) awarded World heritage status by Unesco
for the outstanding beauty of its Roman, Arabic
and Christian architectural treasures. Lunch in
Salamanca. Return to the ship in Vega de Teron for
dinner and a Spanish evening on board.
5th Day: VEGA DE TERON – PINHAO – REGUA – BITETOS
Early morning start cruising from Vega de Teron
and breakfast on board before arriving in Pinhao
for lunch. Depart on an excursion to Vila Real
(optional) famous for the variety of its religious
architecture. Stroll through the beautiful gardens
of Solar de Mateus before returning to the ship
in Regua. Cruise towards Bitetos. Admire the wild
landscapes and impressive rocky outcrops along the
way. Arrival in Bitetos and dinner on board followed
by a folk evening.
>6th Day: BITETOS – PORTO
Early morning start cruising towards Porto. Breakfast
on board. Arrival around 9.00am before disembarking.
